The central point of activity in the village is the log community center built in 1929, Koljalan Lastupirtti, located in the midst of an idyllic and peaceful countryside landscape. The Lastupirtti was built by the Harviala smallholders’ association, which later changed its name to the Koljala village association in the early 1980s and undertook a thorough renovation of the building.
The village association rents the cottage for various celebrations for both villagers and outsiders. Lastupirtti is available from mid-April to the turn of the year and is particularly suitable for family celebrations. Events such as weddings, birthdays, meetings, Christmas parties, dances, etc., can be organized at Lastupirtti. Celebrations can accommodate approximately 100 people.
Other interesting facts
The village also has an active Koljalan VPK. At the Koljala VPK’s stage, you can dance and keep fit during the summer months with dance classes.
As a highlight of the summer, Koljala VPK organizes Nostalgia Dances in July (Koljalan VPK’s stage, Heinäjoentie 199). The old-fashioned dance floor atmosphere is guaranteed at these dances!
