New strategy

The current municipal strategy of Janakkala is valid until the end of 2025. With the new council term, work on a new strategy has begun.

Municipal Act Section 37
A municipality must have a municipal strategy, in which the council decides on the long-term goals for the municipality’s operations and finances.
The municipal strategy must take into account:
1) promoting the wellbeing of the municipality’s residents;
2) organizing and producing services;
3) service objectives stipulated in the laws concerning the municipality’s tasks;
4) ownership policy;
5) personnel policy;
6) opportunities for the municipality’s residents to participate and influence;
7) development of the living environment and the vitality of the area.
The municipal strategy must be based on an assessment of the municipality’s current situation as well as future changes in the operating environment and their impacts on the implementation of the municipality’s tasks. The strategy must also define the evaluation and monitoring of its implementation.
The provisions regarding the consideration of the municipal strategy in the preparation of the municipality’s budget and plans are set out in Section 110. The municipal strategy shall be reviewed at least once during the council’s term.

The members of the steering group are Marko Ahtiainen, Reijo Löytynoja, Kuura Helanen, Jaana Kivistö, Matti Rytilahti, Piia Aitto-oja, Merja Taponen, and Petri Hakamäki. The municipal director Riikka Moilanen is the presenter and administrative secretary Pirjo Alijärvi is the secretary.
