Vähikkälä school is closed as of August 1, 2026 by the decision of the Municipal Council (April 27, 2026, Section 27).

The school is located about eight kilometers southwest of the Tervakoski urban area.

Vähikkälä’s children enjoyed education for the first time in 1879 at the Toiva manor premises. The newest school building was put into use in 1882. The school is located in a yellow log building in the center of a vibrant village community.

In the 2025-2026 school year, there were 2 teachers and 26 students.
