Virala School

Virala School is a traditional village school located in a beautiful natural setting near Lake Virala.

In the school year 2024-2025, there are 36 students.

Virala School implements multi-grade teaching.

• In the basic group of 1st-2nd graders, there are 17 students, with class teacher Marja Leino.
• In the basic group of 4th-6th graders, there are 19 students, with class teacher Kirsi Puumalainen.

Mikko Karttunen is a part-time teacher who teaches crafts, art, environmental studies, and physical education, allowing for smaller group sizes.

Principal Annemari Joro is at the school on Fridays. She teaches all students.

Visiting special education teacher Tuure Vehmas is at the school on Thursdays.
