Private early childhood education and service voucher

You may, if you wish, apply for an early childhood education place for your child from a private early childhood education provider. Private early childhood education is governed by the same laws, decrees and regulations as municipal early childhood education. Janakkala municipality approves, guides and supervises service providers in accordance with the private early childhood education service voucher rulebook.

Janakkala uses an income-based service voucher. The service voucher co-payment corresponds to the municipal early childhood education client fee, and the service provider charges the co-payment from the family. We determine the co-payment based on the child’s age, family size, selected hourly class and the family’s income. If you receive a service voucher, you cannot simultaneously receive home care allowance or private care allowance.

Report changes related to early childhood education immediately in eDaisy. We will update changes to the co-payment from the start of the following month. The service voucher’s cancellation period is one month.

How to apply for the service voucher

1. Apply for an early childhood education place from a private service provider.
2. Check the availability of the service voucher from early childhood education service guidance.
3. Apply for the service voucher in eDaisy and submit the required income information at the same time.
4. Make a written service agreement with the service provider.
5. You will receive the service voucher decision electronically (eDaisy, Suomi.fi).
