Youth Center Varikko

Starting from the beginning of 2025, a new monitoring system called Hellewi will be implemented in youth facilities.
So far, we have collected statistics on the number of young people visiting the facilities, but with the new system, we will get rid of paper lists. Occasionally, we will also need to inform young people about changing opening hours, sudden exceptions, and this new system gives us the opportunity to do so. If all the information is filled in correctly, we can, for example, send a text message: youth space closed.
The information will remain confidential and will only be available to our supervising staff on duty.
In practice, the guardian registers the young person as a visitor to the youth facilities once, and upon arrival, the young person informs the supervisor of their name.
We also hope to have information about any allergies or illnesses that may affect the young person’s daily life or may require a response from the supervisors in the facilities. Especially in the event of accidents or medical emergencies, we would like to be able to contact the guardian, and the new practice will give us this opportunity.

Varikko is Tervakoski’s own youth space, located at the Seuratalo. The purpose of the youth space is to be a cozy and comfortable hangout for all high school students and older young people.

There is always a trained and professional supervisor working at the youth facility together with a partner. At the youth space, you can discuss all kinds of concerns, and of course, we also want to hear about the joyful everyday stories. The supervisors are there just for you.

No one is allowed to enter the youth facility under the influence; alcohol and drugs are completely prohibited, as well as the use of tobacco products in the vicinity of the facility, this includes snuff and electronic cigarettes. Energy drinks are also not allowed on the premises.
