Private roads

The municipality supports private roads with a road association established in accordance with the Private Road Act. Funding is only granted for the section of the road used by permanent residents. The information of the road association in the Private Road Register maintained by the National Land Survey must be up to date, and the road association must otherwise comply with the Private Road Act in its operations.
Funding is distributed based on funding criteria approved by the technical committee based on the actual maintenance costs presented by the road association.

Application for private road subsidies 2025

The private road subsidies granted by the municipality of Janakkala have been transferred to be applied for electronically. Note: After submitting the application, a Thank you for your application text and a confirmation email will be sent. If no confirmation is received, please contact the Agricultural Office.

Subsidies can also be applied for by filling out a paper grant application form and returning it to the Janakkala Agricultural Office. The application period opens on January 7, 2025.

Electronic maintenance subsidy application

Applications can also be submitted using paper forms to the Janakkala Agricultural Office (address: Harvialantie 7, 2nd floor) during its opening hours.
The application period ends on February 28, 2025. Subsidy applications can be submitted late within 30 days after the application period ends. If the application is submitted after the deadline, it reduces the calculated subsidy by one percent per day of delay, and if the application is more than 30 days late, it will be rejected entirely.

 

Electronic improvement subsidy application

Applications can also be submitted using paper forms to the Janakkala Agricultural Office (address: Harvialantie 7, 2nd floor) during its opening hours.
Improvement subsidy applications that have been submitted late may be processed if funding becomes available later, for example, due to project cancellations.

Eligible works for improvement subsidies include:
• construction and basic maintenance of ditches, culverts, and bridges
• straightening of roads
• basic repair of road bearing capacity
• removal of rocks
• construction of meeting places
• basic repairs of side ditches / drainage
• other such improvement works aimed at enhancing the structure and condition of the road
