Summer jobs in the municipality of Janakkala

The summer jobs for 2025 are open for applications from Marh 19 to April 12, 2026.

Summer jobs are available for two or four weeks in places such as daycare centers, children’s camps, and parks and sports areas.

This year, we will make selections based on applications. We will announce the selections by the end of April.

Young residents of Janakkala born in 2011 or earlier can apply for municipal summer jobs, provided they have no prior work experience or very limited experience. For those under 15 years old, the contract must be signed by a guardian or by the child with guardian’s consent.

Summer jobs with park meals

• The municipality of Janakkala is looking for eight young people to work with providing park meals for the summer. The job provides a great opportunity to gain work experience, learn responsibility, and be part of a pleasant work community!
• Park meals are organized both in Turenki and Tervakoski.
• The work is mainly based in Tervakoski, but transportation will be arranged from Turenki to the workplace and back, so you can apply for summer work even if you live in Turenki.
• The tasks include planning park meals, preparing food, serving, organizing additional activities alongside the meals, and cleaning. A hygiene passport is considered an advantage, but it is not mandatory.
• The work takes place in June and lasts for 4 weeks.
• You can apply for the job even if you have had summer jobs before.
• The application period is from March 19 to April 3, 2026.
• We may contact applicants during the application period, so keep an eye on your email. Interview invitations will be sent there.

Summer job voucher 2026

The summer job voucher is a voucher of 250 or 500 euros paid by the municipality to the employer who hires:

• A young person aged 15-24, born between 2002-2011, for at least 2 or 4 weeks between May 1 and August 31, 2026.
• For the 250€ subsidy, the net salary (the amount the young person receives) must be at least 500€.
• For the 500€ subsidy, the net salary (the amount the young person receives) must be at least 1000€. The 500€ subsidy is limited to one subsidy per company.

The summer job voucher can be applied for from February 1 to May 31, 2026.

In 2026, summer job vouchers will be distributed a little differently:
we will review the applications and award vouchers to new applicants who have not previously been employed with the help of a Janakkala Municipality summer job voucher.
