160th celebratory gingerbread competition
In honor of Janakkala’s 160th anniversary year, the gingerbread competition returns in November 2026!
This time the theme is open, but the entry must include the municipal mascot The Ilves in gingerbread shape. Participants will receive the Ilves mold to keep as well as a package of gingerbread dough provided by S-Market Turenki.
Categories
There are two categories in the competition: general and children’s (under 15).
The winner of both categories is chosen by public vote and awarded a 100-euro gift card to a Janakkala-based company of the winner’s choice.

19.10.-1.11. Registration for the competition
2.-8.11. Pickup of the dough and mold from S-Market
30.11.-6.12. Delivery of gingerbread works to S-Market
7.-17.12. Works displayed at S-Market and online voting
18.-20.12. Your work must be collected
