Designed by the architectural firm Saara Juola and completed in 1996, Janakkala main library offers a variety of spaces and opportunities for enjoying literature and culture.

Accessibility

Route to the entrance

From the Koulutie side you can reach the library’s main door directly via the pedestrian and bicycle path.
From the Koulutie side you can also access the library parking lot, which has 2 accessible parking spaces. The parking spaces are approximately 40 meters from the library’s main door.

Main entrance

The main entrance is covered and lit.
The door opens automatically with a motion sensor.
The outer door and the vestibule door open in the same direction: one into the vestibule and the other outwards.
There is a ramp at the entrance.

Interior

The library service desk is located to the left when entering the lobby from the vestibule.
The service desk does not have a queue number system.
An accessible restroom is located in the corridor on the right side of the lobby opposite the men’s restroom. The accessible restroom door has a request to ask staff to open it. This request is present because there has been vandalism in the space.
It is possible to move around indoors with a wheelchair and a rollator.
The height of the borrowing and return machines can be adjusted.
The service desk has a portable induction loop.
