Designed by the architectural firm Saara Juola and completed in 1996, Janakkala Main Library offers a variety of spaces and opportunities for enjoying literature and culture.

Accessibility

Route to the entrance

From the Koulutie side, you can reach the library’s main entrance directly via the pedestrian and cycle path.
From the Koulutie side, you can also access the library parking lot, where there are 2 accessible parking spaces. The distance from the parking spaces to the library’s main entrance is approximately 40 meters.

Main entrance

The main entrance is covered and lit.
The door opens automatically with a motion sensor.
The outer door and the vestibule door open in the same direction: one into the vestibule and the other outwards.
There is a ramp at the entrance.

Interior

The library service point is located to the left when entering the lobby from the vestibule.
There is no queue number system at the service point.
The accessible toilet is located in the corridor on the right side of the lobby, opposite the men’s toilet. The accessible toilet door has a notice asking visitors to ask staff to open the door. The notice is there because the facility has experienced vandalism.
The indoor spaces allow movement with a wheelchair and a rollator.
The height of the borrowing and return machines can be adjusted.
There is no induction loop at the service point.
