Connection to the water and sewer network

Properties must be connected to the water and sewer network in the so-called operational areas of the water utility, which are the areas specifically confirmed by the council in Turenki, Tarinmaa, Tervakoski, and Leppäkoski. The operational areas mainly border on zoned areas. Information about the operational areas of the water utility can be found at Janakkalan Vesi.

Water cooperatives have also been established in the area, to which joining is voluntary. Four water cooperatives have been established in Janakkala: Punkan-Nummenpää, Koljala-Vuortenkylä, Uhkoila, and Rastila water cooperatives. Only a water pipeline network has been built in the area of the Rastila water cooperative.

An exemption from the obligation to connect can be applied for on the grounds specified in Section 11 of the Water Supply Act. An informal application for permission, accompanied by a location map, is to be submitted to Janakkala’s environmental protection.
