Early childhood education in Janakkala is implemented in municipal daycares, family daycare, and private early childhood education. The place for early childhood education is not tied to the family’s residential area, and it can be applied for from the desired early childhood education unit. Early childhood education is offered full-time or part-time, and if necessary, shift care is arranged according to the family’s needs. A place for early childhood education can be applied for year-round, but no later than four (4) months before starting early childhood education. If the need for early childhood education is sudden, the place should be applied for no later than two (2) weeks before starting early childhood education. The right to early childhood education ends at the end of July of the year when the child turns seven (7) years old.

Registration for pre-primary education takes place in February, and at the same time, one can also apply for supplementary early childhood education. The application should primarily be filled out through electronic services, eDaisy. If for some reason using eDaisy is not possible, fill out the printable application.

Starting early childhood education

In Janakkala, a starting discussion is held with the guardians and the child at the beginning of early childhood education. In the starting discussion, fundamental issues and the guardians’ description of the child are discussed, as well as the guardians’ thoughts and wishes regarding early childhood education. The child gets to know the early childhood education group together with the guardian. The orientation sessions are agreed upon between the guardians and the staff.
