Heinäjoki school
Heinäjoki school will be closed as of August 1, 2026 by decision of the Municipal Council (April 27, 2026, Section 26).
Heinäjoki school is located in the countryside about 5 kilometers from Turenki towards Lammi. Our school is small, cozy, and a safe place of learning where both students and staff enjoy working.
In the 2025-2026 school year, there are 3 teachers and 45 students at the school.
Heinäjoki school implements combined class and day course education.
- 1st-2nd grade, 14 students, class teacher: Riikka Laatikainen
- 3rd-4th grade, 13 students, class teacher: Johanna Sahila
- 5th-6th grade, 18 students, class teacher: Essi Hildén
Additionally, the school employs school assistant Eija Kanervo.
After-school activities are organized in Turenki at the Välkky school center. Pupils travel to Välkky by school transport.
Special education teacher Mikael Nikkari visits Heinäjoki School on Fridays.
School nurse Päivi Uhlgren is at the school once a month on Mondays on pre-arranged dates.
School and resilience coach Outi Yli-Kovero visits the school on Thursdays in odd-numbered weeks.
School social worker Marko Lahti visits the school once a month on Tuesdays on pre-arranged dates.
