The special diet must be based on the treatment of the disease or health reasons. According to the national allergy program, mild allergic symptoms should no longer be treated by avoiding the allergenic food, but rather by exposing and gradually desensitizing. Therefore, no notification will be made to the food services regarding food items that cause mild allergic symptoms.

It is justified to exclude those essential food items from the diet that have been found, based on trials, to cause significant harm or life-threatening symptoms. In this case, the guardian will make a notification about the special diet in Wilma.

The special diet must be reported through Wilma by June 15, 2025. If there are changes to the diet during the academic year, the guardian must fill out a new special diet notification. Trials of new food items should be conducted at home. When the food item no longer causes symptoms, the guardian must as soon as possible notify the Tuuving central kitchen about the lifting of the allergy diet by calling 050 473 8588 or by email at tuuvinginkeskuskeittio@compass-group.fi
