KuiSiistii! cleanup volunteer week May 2-9, 2025

In spring 2025, a whole week of volunteer activities will be held, during which you can collect litter at a time that suits you.
Trash bags, gloves, and grabbers will be available at multiple locations in both Turenki and Tervakoski. Additionally, there will be bins in the communities where collected bags can be disposed of.

Among those who post about their volunteering on the Facebook event, Janakkala product packages will be raffled. You can also participate in the raffle by sending an email about your volunteering to: viestinta@janakkala.fi.

Locations in Turenki where cleaning supplies can be borrowed:

• Parking area of the sports hall (Koulutie 2, Turenki)
• Parking area of Kivitasku daycare (Peurankaari 1, Turenki)
• Pedestrian street, next to Murunpuisto (Keskuskuja, Turenki)
• Trash bags collection bin: Taimistotie 4 parking area

Locations in Tervakoski where cleaning supplies can be borrowed:

• K-Market Tervapata (Heimolankatu 1, Tervakoski)
• Community center (Seuranaukio 3, Tervakoski)
• Intersection of Koivusillantien and Varisojantien

KuiSiistii! initiatives

Get out for a walk – do good! Tuesday, May 6.
Janakkala Parish’s KuiSiistii! coffee cart will be in TURNGIS from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM and in TERVAKOSKI from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
From the cart, you can get a trash bag and gloves for the cleanup activities, and with coffee/juice and a cookie, the work will go smoothly. The cart’s route in Turenki is from the parish center to Välkylä. In Tervakoski, from the parish center to the artificial turf field. You can collect trash from other areas as well, but you can find the cart operators here. Come join us! 😊

Leppäkoski village is participating in the KuiSiistii! campaign by organizing a cleanup on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The staff of the Tervakoski paper mill will volunteer on Thursday, May 8, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM to clean up around the factory.

In Tarinmaa, KuiSiistii! cleanup on Monday, May 5. Departure from the parish house parking area at 5:00 PM, where you will receive garbage bags and gloves provided by the municipality! Volunteer coffee/snacks at the VPK hall at 6:30 PM.

Tervakosken Pato will clean the area around the sports fields with the help of its members on May 6 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

Are you organizing your own cleanup?

The municipality provides garbage bags and gloves and will pick up full bags from an agreed location.
Garbage bags can be picked up from the volunteer boxes. Let us know at lyyli@janakkala.fi when and where the collected garbage bags can be picked up.
Associations can also invoice the municipality for sausages and drinks for the volunteering events against receipts.

Additionally, libraries lend out grabbers with a library card.
