Grouping

When a young person steps into junior high school and a completely new phase in their life, it doesn’t always go smoothly. In order for school to be more than just a necessary evil and a place for young people to be during school hours, support from the group, teamwork skills, and practice of social skills are needed. This way, it is possible to get more out of school, bullying hopefully decreases, and at the same time, important skills for working life are learned almost unconsciously. However, a group does not always form spontaneously from a random assortment of students, and for this, youth services do group work from the very beginning.
The work focuses on the seventh grade but continues until the end of junior high school. When the class finally breaks up and elementary school ends, the grief of losing a tight-knit group may take time.

Lessons

Youth services contribute to preventive substance abuse work in the municipality. One way to implement this is through themed lessons held for students in schools.
Themed lessons can also cover topics outside of the regular school work, such as bullying, study motivation, team spirit, sexuality, gaming, or other current issues.
Lessons are conducted as part of the group work for all classes at a certain grade level, but can also be targeted to specific classes as needed, for example, at the request of a teacher.

Theme Days

Youth services can also be involved in planning and implementing school theme days, such as traffic safety day or other special events.

Special Youth Work in Schools

The special youth worker is involved in the daily life of comprehensive schools and carries out small group activities and various projects together with the school staff.
