At the Tervakoski library, you can visit independently during extended opening hours. To access the self-service library, you need to log in using the reader device next to the library’s front door. Place your library card in the reader and enter your four-digit PIN, which will unlock the door. The PIN is the same one used at the online library and at the self-checkout machines. Staff will assist customers with the self-service library during service hours.
The library has access control and recorded video surveillance. You must log out of the self-service library before it closes, or it will trigger an alarm. The customer who triggers the alarm is responsible for any costs incurred from the alarm.
Users of the self-service library under 15 years of age:
- Users under 15 years of age must have a guardian-signed agreement.
- The agreement must be signed during customer service hours at the library.
- The guardian is responsible for the minor’s library visits.
What can you do during self-service hours?
- You can borrow and return items at the machines. The screens on the borrowing and return machines guide you in borrowing and returning items.
- Reservations can be picked up from the reservation shelf. Reserved materials are organized in numerical order based on the customer number.
- Information searches can be conducted independently.
- You can use the library’s facilities for studying and working. The library’s open WLAN network is available for use.
What can you not do during self-service hours?
- You cannot pay fees to the library or recharge your gym card.
- You cannot print, copy, or scan.
- Services that require staff are not available during self-service hours.
