The council approved the detailed plans for Rastikangas.

Janakkala municipal council approved at its meeting on 28.9.2026 the detailed plan for the continuation of Rastikankaantie (section 69) and the amendment to the detailed plan for the southwestern part of Rastikangas (section 70). The approved detailed plans enable the continuation of Rastikankaantie through the industrial area to Rastilantie and the development of traffic in the southwestern part of Rastikangas for future needs. Access to the large industrial plot in the southwest will be possible more directly from Turengintie, very close to the Virala junction on highway 3. Good transport connections and visibility make the area more attractive.

The aim of the detailed plans is to respond to the qualitative demand for business plots, particularly in terms of the areas’ accessibility, and to strengthen the municipality’s competitiveness as a provider of business plots. Rastikangas is one of Janakkala’s most important economic areas. It is located in an excellent logistical location. The area is particularly suitable for the needs of industry, logistics and other space-intensive operations that are transport-intensive. Improving road connections promotes the phased implementation and long-term development of the business area. Approval of the plans supports the municipality’s strategic objectives of strengthening vitality, increasing jobs and attracting new investments.
