Municipal executive allocating funding to prevent social exclusion of children and young people

The municipal executive will decide on August 31, 2026 on allocating inheritance funds (23,359.53 euros) to organizing and supporting leisure activities that prevent the social exclusion of children and young people.

The funds can be used especially for organizing camps and excursions for children and young people, park meals during the summer holiday, and other similar low-threshold activities that promote equal opportunities for participation, inclusion, and wellbeing among children and young people.

Purchase offer for the mobile library

The municipal executive is to approve the purchase offer for the mobile library.
As part of the financial balancing program, the mobile library service has been discontinued and the vehicle has been for sale in an online auction. A total of 79 bids were received and the highest bid at the end of the bidding period was 10,000€, which is considered an acceptable price.

Statement on expanding the fireworks storage

The municipal executive will respond to the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency’s request for a statement concerning Pyrokratia Ltd’s application for a modification permit for the explosives storage located in Vähikkälä.

In its statement, the municipality of Janakkala considers it important that groundwater protection be taken into account in the permit evaluation with sufficient measures. In addition, the municipality considers it important that the adequacy of safety and preparedness-related plans and operating procedures be assessed regularly, taking into account nearby residents, landowners, businesses, and other local actors and users.

Additionally, the municipal executive is to approve, on its part, the municipality’s principles for safe premises and the movement program for children and young people.
