Local operator Kernaalan likat begins as the café entrepreneur in Laurinmäki

Kernaalan likat will be responsible for arranging Laurinmäki’s café services at the Yellow House during the summer season. The museum opens its doors on June 7, when the Summer Opening event will also be held.

Janakkala municipality sought a café operator for summer 2026 through an open call. The application period ended on March 13, 2026. Three applications were received, and two applicants were interviewed. 

The chosen operator has years of experience in café operations, although the business was established this year. The operator’s strengths also included enlivening the area with various activities, such as a petting zoo and events that support the area’s cultural heritage.

The selection valued previous experience in café operations and event organization, good collaboration skills, and enthusiasm and ideas for enlivening the museum environment.
