Light event Valo illuminates Laurinmäki on November 19
In Laurinmäki a new Valo event aimed at families with children will be held on Thursday, November 19, during Children’s Rights Week, making the most of the autumn darkness.
A candle path will be built in the wooded Laurinmäki museum area. Along the path, visitors will discover checkpoints and hint boards which will help in solving a word puzzle. A new character, Josefiina Laurintytär, has been created for the event; she invites children to join the adventure of searching for ten lost sparks of light.
At 18:00 and 19:00 the event will feature light performances by Belenos Group of Arts, which combine powerful LED equipment with enchantingly beautiful, handmade costumes in the magic of dance.
There will also be pony carriage rides from 17:30–18:30 and the Yellow House café will serve sweet and savory treats.
The event is organized by Janakkala’s youth services in cooperation with cultural services.
Due to arrangements made in the welfare division, cultural services have been transferred under the Head of Youth and Culture.
– As cooperation has intensified, our plan is to invest even more in cultural youth work and to make use of our wonderful museum area facilities, says the Head of Youth and Culture Sanna Laine.
Kino Paja of youth services also runs the Tervakoski cinema and, going forward, youth services will also be responsible for the Yellow House’s summer café operations. Next summer the Laurinmäki museum area could be a summer workplace for many young people in Janakkala.
– The café offers the opportunity to allocate some weeks to youth entrepreneurship trials, says youth wellbeing advisor Jenni Salomaa.
With the Valo event, preparations are already underway for the horror-themed Laurinmäki event planned for next year’s autumn break week, in which Josefiina Laurintytär continues her adventures.
