Construction activity has increased significantly compared with the previous year
In Janakkala, 13 building permits have been granted during the current year, whereas only a few were granted the previous year. Two new holiday homes have been permitted. In 2025 a permit was granted for one holiday home.
Of the detached houses, 7 have been built or are being built in sparsely populated areas and 6 in the detailed plan area. Of the municipality’s single-house plot areas, the most popular has been Turenki’s Moisio mini-plot area, for which three permits have been applied. After several years of quiet, the area has now started to develop nicely next to Karhulaakso daycare. Read what kind of house Harri Rapo is building in Moisio (in Finnish).
– In addition, this year there have also been extensions and other alterations to residential buildings, which indicate that people want to invest in their own homes, says building inspector Sanni Sirén.
Janakkala still has a plot campaign running for the rest of the year plot campaign, during which single-family plots are sold at 2 euros per square meter. The campaign plots are located in Tervakoski’s Mäyrä and Turenki’s Ilveslinna.
