Tanttala is a village of about 110 households, located 10 kilometres from Turenki towards Hausjärvi. The functional center is a village school built in 1939 that has two teachers. Teaching at Tanttala School will end as of August 1, 2027 by a decision of the municipal council (April 27, 2026, Section 28).

Tanttala has Tanttala Village and School Support Association, which, among other things, supports the activities and continuation of Tanttala village school and brings life and community to the village through various events and activities. You can follow the village association on its Facebook page.

The wooded ridge in Tanttala offers hikers winding paths and beautiful views across the village’s fields. On the banks of the Puujoki River, which flows at the municipal border, there is Tanttala village beach. In winter, the ice rink on Tanttala School’s field is actively used for skating and ice hockey practice.

Tanttala also has an excellent network of ski trails and Janakkalan Latu ry has built its Latumaja in this village. The spacious lodge has a hall, entrance and kitchen upstairs, and a sauna and fireplace room downstairs. The Latumaja can be rented. From the Latumaja’s lean-to you can also access the new Latumaja nature trail, which offers just over five kilometres of route to explore in beautiful ridge scenery.
