Kiipula village is best known for the education and rehabilitation center Kiipula, located in the village. The area still features the old, beautiful main building Kustaanhovi, which now serves as a venue for celebrations and meetings.

The history of Kiipula is closely tied to the life’s work of Wilhelmiina and Kustaa Kiipula. The Kiipula family ran a successful farm, but after their daughter Alma Kiipula died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 38 in 1907, they bequeathed their estate to support the fight against tuberculosis.
Their two sons had passed away earlier, and there was no one left to continue the farm.

The activities that began from the bequest expanded into education and rehabilitation services.

Kiipula remains a small village: there are about 200 employees on the site of the Kiipula Education and Rehabilitation Center, and the daily number of clients (students and rehabilitators) is 400–500.

Kiipula is a producer of social good. Its primary task is to organize vocational special education and rehabilitation. The entity includes the Kiipula Vocational Institute, Kiipula Business Services, Kiipula Gardens, and Kiipula Guest House. Rehabilitation services are provided by Avire Oy.
