Rock climbing
Haukankallio
Haukankalliontie, Leppäkoski
Climbing at Haukankallio in Leppäkoski began in the late 1950s, when the pioneers of Finnish rock climbing climbed a wall that is 30 meters high at best. Haukankallio has 14 climbing routes of varying levels. Most routes have a top rope anchor. When climbing on a bottom rope, the climber must master the safe use of natural protections, as there are very few fixed protections on the routes.
Noise should be avoided at the rock, as the nearest residential buildings are right next to it. There is a small parking area at the beginning of the forest road that leads from Haukankalliontie.
Guided climbing is also available at Haukankallio. The climbing is conducted as top rope climbing, where one climber climbs at a time. A group of 1–4 people can climb at a time for about an hour. The cost of approximately 1.5 hours of rock climbing for a group of up to 4 people is 100€. Climbing is suitable for participants in normal physical condition, with a recommended minimum age of 12 years.
