Lost and found animals
The municipality of Janakkala has an agreement with the South Häme Animal Shelter in Hattula for the reception of lost and found cats and dogs. The statutory minimum holding period for a found pet is 15 days. During this time, the owner has the right to redeem the pet for the cost of care and any transportation fees. If the animal does not find its way back home, a new home can be sought for the animal after 15 days, or it can be euthanized.
