Events at Turenki Square and Pedestrian Street
The Turengin square primarily serves as a parking area, so if it is to be rented as an event space, the municipality charges a fee: 165 euros per day. This is because parking bans must be set in advance and barriers brought in, so that there are no cars when the event organizers arrive. This fee includes possible electricity and the emptying of fixed trash bins. The right to use the square is requested via an informal application sent by email to property engineer Marika Kolehmainen.
The use of the pedestrian street for events is free of charge, but it must be notified well in advance via email to Marika Kolehmainen. The notification should include the date, time, the purpose of the visit, and the person responsible. If a responsible person is not specifically stated, the notifier is responsible for the event.
Near the playground, there is an electricity point from which compensation for electricity can be obtained if necessary. This must be arranged in advance, as the electricity point is locked.
It is the event organizer’s responsibility to ensure that the event does not pose a danger or unnecessary inconvenience to other users of the area. Pedestrian pathways must always be kept clear. The area must be kept clean during the event and cleaned immediately after the event ends. There are no separate waste bins in the area, so trash must be taken away.
