City Council
The highest decision-making body of the municipality is the council, whose members are elected every four years in general and equal municipal elections. In Janakkala, there are 33 councilors.
The council elects members to the municipal board, which is responsible for preparing the council’s decisions and implementing them. Additionally, the council elects members to other committees.
The council meetings are open to the public. The meetings can also be listened to both live and recorded on the YouTube channel. Meetings are announced in advance on the municipality’s website.
The agendas for the council meetings are available before the meeting on the municipality’s website and on the day of the meeting at the municipal office. The verified minutes of the meeting are generally available for public inspection at the Service Office Lyylissä in the municipal office building, Juttilantie 1 Turenki, generally one week after the meeting. Additionally, the minutes are published online on the municipality’s website.
