Evaluation and Development of Early Childhood Education
”The quality of early childhood education is developed through systematic evaluation. Evaluations are conducted at both national and local levels. Providers of early childhood education must evaluate, among other things, local early childhood education plans and their implementation. The evaluation of units particularly focuses on the organization of activities and the implementation of pedagogy. The child’s developmental assessment must also be evaluated together with the guardian at least once a year. Through evaluation, the strengths and development needs of early childhood education are made visible.” (OPH 2023)
Early childhood education is continuously evaluated and developed. The themes to be developed emerge through evaluation based on observations, surveys, and feedback for example.
Janakkala’s early childhood education has received funding for development from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the National Agency for Education. Development is a daily part of statutory high-quality early childhood education.
