Open early childhood education

Open early childhood education is free of charge for families with children from Janakkala. Participation does not affect the home care allowance.

With our activities we support the wellbeing of children, guardians and the whole family. We offer children opportunities to play, build friendships and take part in guided activities. As a guardian you receive peer support and, if needed, assistance with questions related to your child’s growth and development.

Open early childhood education is part of Janakkala municipality’s early childhood education services. Our activities are guided by the Early Childhood Education Plan Framework 2022 and Janakkala municipality’s early childhood education plan. The activities are run by an early childhood education teacher and an early childhood education childcare worker.

We organise activities in Turenki and Tervakoski. We make use of local nature and physical activity and also carry out activities outdoors. We plan and develop activities based on the needs of children, guardians and families and cooperate with various partners.

Family groups

Family groups are meeting places for families with children that you can attend according to your own schedule.
In the family groups:

• children and guardians take part in activities together,
• you get to know other families with children,
• you receive peer support from guardians in similar life situations,
• the child can play and meet other children.

You can participate without prior registration. The child is the guardian’s responsibility during the activities.

Children’s groups

Children’s groups are intended for 2–5-year-old children. The child participates without a guardian.

The children’s group provides a safe environment to practise cooperating with others, social skills and being part of a group. Activities are varied, in line with the early childhood education plan and based on play.

Submit your application primarily via the eDaisy service. In the additional information field of the application, state whether you are applying for a place in the Tervakoski or Turenki children’s group.
