Early childhood education in Janakkala is provided in municipal daycare centers and family daycare as well as in private early childhood education. An early childhood education placement is not tied to the family’s residential area; you can apply for the early childhood education placement you prefer. Early childhood education is offered full-time or part-time, and shift care is arranged when needed according to guardians’ shift work or studies. Before starting shift care, guardians must submit a certificate from the employer or place of education confirming the need for evening or shift care. You can apply for an early childhood education placement year-round, but no later than four (4) months before the start of early childhood education. If the need for early childhood education is sudden (work, studies), the placement must be applied for no later than two (2) weeks before the start. The right to early childhood education ends at the end of July of the year in which the child turns seven (7) years old.

Registration for pre-primary education takes place in February, and at the same time you can also apply for early childhood education that complements pre-primary education. The application should primarily be completed via the online service, eDaisy (in Finnish). If for some reason using eDaisy is not possible, fill in the printable application (in Finnish).
