Ahilammin partnership table
Turengin Ahilammi is a place for many activities. By the shores of the Hiidenjoki river, you can find a boat harbor, a swimming beach, a dog swimming area, a motorhome park, and a place for washing carpets. A zoning plan and a zoning change are in progress in the area.
Ahilammi is already a summer destination for residents, boaters, and other travelers, but could it have the potential to be even more? The partnership table is considering this. It has 15,000 euros available for the development of the area.
The partnership table’s work has concluded with a vision workshop. The table proposes the following vision for Ahilammi:
“A captivating environment based on the power of water, so attractive that people come from near and far to spend time, relax, exercise, and stay fit.”
Accompanying the vision is a concern that if the area’s zoning progresses as planned, housing will come so close to the shore that it will conflict with the use of travelers, boaters, and residents. It is important to find a balance in coordinating the area’s functions.
