Absences and vacation trips
Absences
The student is required to be present in classes (High School Act §30). The student must agree on any make-up tasks for absences with the teachers. If the absence is known in advance, permission must be requested. The student should arrange the make-up tasks for the requested absence with the teachers well in advance. The principal does not grant leave during the final week.
Permission for absence is granted by:
- yksittäiseksi oppitunniksi kyseisen kurssin opettaja,
- enintään kolmeksi päiväksi ryhmänohjaaja ja
- yli kolmeksi päiväksi rehtori.
Absences are recorded in Wilma. The guardian must report the absence in Wilma as soon as it is known. An adult student or guardian clarifies the absence in Wilma. The student can clarify the absence if necessary with a certificate from the school nurse or doctor. Absences during individual courses must be clarified immediately after the absence. Absence from an event that replaces scheduled classes is marked as an absence for that specific course.
Planned absence is requested from the group advisor (up to three days) or the principal (more than three days) by filling out an application in Wilma. Instructions for absence application
