There is a lot happening in Janakkala throughout the year! You can find all events, from music festivals to film screenings, in our event calendar.
In January 2026 we switched to using the Menoinfo event calendar instead of the former Häme Events. In addition to Janakkala, other municipalities in Kanta-Häme and Visit Häme also migrated to Menoinfo. Hämeen Menoinfo makes it easy to find all events in both Kanta- and Päijät-Häme.

Annual events and theme weeks in Janakkala
Janakkalan Barokki
A celebration of early music in the medieval setting of Tarinmaa at the turn of June and July. The Helsinki Baroque Orchestra is responsible for the festival’s program, and it is organized in cooperation with the Janakkala municipality and the parish. Running alongside is the family-friendly Baroque events.
Janakkala Music Days
The Janakkala Music Days association has for over 30 years brought a versatile concert program, from classical to popular music and children’s concerts, to different parts of Janakkala. The Music Days take place in March.
Taara Market and Arts
Taara Market and Arts takes you back in time at the atmospheric Laurinmäki culture and museum area during harvest time. The event is suitable for everyone who practices or is interested in history and cultural heritage in various ways, regardless of age or social status. Performances, concerts, art workshops and nature trails bring history to life from many angles and different eras. The market square sells, among other things, handicrafts and harvest products.
Turenki Spring Fest
The May event fills Turenki with bustle and atmosphere. Markets, a food street, music, performances and a cavalcade of vintage cars by the Häme Mobilists.
The event is organiZed by the Janakkala municipality together with local businesses and associations.
Tervafest
Tervakoski hosts its own summer village event every year with music, market stalls and good food. Bring a picnic blanket and come enjoy the summery atmosphere!
Janakkala Christmas Opening at Laurinmäki
The Janakkala Christmas Opening at Laurinmäki opens the Christmas season at the end of November in the idyllic Laurinmäki area. You can find lovely gifts, treats and decorations at the Christmas market. The family event traditionally features cheerful performances and Santa Claus himself also visits Laurinmäki!
Laurinmäki Summer Opening
The Laurinmäki summer opening, as the name suggests, kicks off the summer events at Laurinmäki. The Yellow House café and the crofter’s museum open their doors to summer visitors. The event offers a program for the whole family.
Janakkala Love Week in February
In Janakkala, Love Week is celebrated in February, bringing a diverse and warm-hearted program to the municipality. The week’s program is created through the cooperation of many local and regional actors, offering residents and event visitors experiences, culture and togetherness.
Children's Culture Week in May
The national Children’s Culture Week is also celebrated in Janakkala with a joyful and varied program.
Creative October
Creative October brings culture into everyday life in Janakkala with low-threshold, free events. Cultural wellbeing from babies to grandparents!
