With about 4000 inhabitants, Tervakoski is the second main town of Janakkala. Tervakoski has developed over the years around Finland’s oldest still-operating paper mill, Tervakoski Oy, as evidenced by its unique old residential areas and other charming environments. Tervakoski offers all everyday services, including a health center, library, daycares, primary and secondary schools, as well as a high school. There is also a cinema, Kino Tervakoski, and a swimming hall. In Alasjärvi, there are several swimming beaches. The most famous resident of Tervakoski is likely Puuhanalle, which attracts thousands of families with children to Puuhamaa during the summer.
