Presidential election
A second round of the presidential election will be held because none of the candidates received more than half of the votes in the first round. The actual election day for the second round of the presidential election is Sunday, February 11, 2024, and the polling places will be open from 9 AM to 8 PM.
On the actual election day, eligible voters may only vote at the polling district and polling place indicated on the notification card sent to them.

The advance voting for the second round is from Wednesday, January 31, 2024, to Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Every eligible voter can vote in advance at any general advance polling place in the country. The Ministry of Justice publishes the addresses and voting times of the general advance polling places on their election website. Voters can also inquire about them from the ministry’s free service number 0800 9 4770. A list of general advance polling places and their addresses and opening hours in the eligible voter’s home municipality will be attached to the notification card sent to each eligible voter.
Home Voting
A person whose ability to move or function is limited can register for home voting if they cannot reach the polling or advance voting place without unreasonable difficulties. In conjunction with home voting, a family caregiver living in the same household as the person eligible for home voting can also vote. The caregiver’s voting must be reported to the central electoral committee at the same time as the registration for home voting is made.
Home voting for the second round will take place during the advance voting period from January 31 to February 6, from 9 AM to 7 PM, at a time separately notified to the voter.
Registration for home voting must be done by Tuesday, January 16, 2024, by 4 PM, either by phone at 050 573 4038 or in writing to the Janakkala Municipal Central Electoral Committee, Juttilantie 1, 14200 Turenki. Registration can also be done by a person chosen by the voter. Registration for home voting will also be considered for a possible second round, and no new registration is needed. However, if you only want to vote in the second round, you must register by January 30, 2024, before 4 PM. Advance Voting in Institutions
Voting in institutions for the second round will take place during the advance voting period from January 31 to February 6. Information about the voting times will be provided in detail in the departments of the institutions. Those receiving care in the institutions can vote.
Notification of Voting Rights
The Digital and Population Data Services Agency will send a notification card about voting rights to each person registered in the voting rights register, whose address is known, by January 4, 2024, at the latest. If there is an error in the notification card information or if the notification has not arrived, a correction request must be made to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency using the correction request form no later than January 12, 2024, before 4 PM.
Remember Identification
At the polling place, proof of identity must be presented, such as a driver’s license, passport, police-issued ID card, or a photo Kela card.
