Movement on illuminated outdoor trails

  • during skiing season, either traditional skiing or skating
  • during snowless periods on foot
  • The mobility restriction does not apply to maintenance in accordance with the Outdoor Recreation Act
  • During the trail maintenance period, walking on the ski trail and walking dogs is prohibited (Consumer Safety Act (920/2011) and Order Act §14)

The outdoor trail lights will turn on in week 40. In spring, the lights will turn off in week 12.

Daily, the lights turn on as evening falls (with a twilight switch) and turn off at 9:30 PM.


The connecting trail links the Konttila and Kaurinmaa-Lintuvuori routes.

  • How do I get to the trail?
    • NOTE: Due to the construction site of the new sports field, parking is at Valimonkuja at the Turenki end
      • After the inconvenience caused by the construction site, a larger parking area is available, accessible from Tykkivajantie
    • Parking in Kiipula according to the area instructions
    • NOTE: Parking is not allowed at the edge of the trail along Kiipulantie near outdoor fitness equipment > the trail gets damaged from vehicle tires.
  • What is the trail profile like?
    • A pleasantly varied profile, ski directions should be followed in uphill and downhill sections.
    • Depending on snow conditions, a connecting trail to Kaurinmaa-Lintuvuori route.

  • How do I get to the trail?
    • From the Turenki end, the trail begins near Kaurinmaa playground: Kelopolku 4, 14200 Turenki
    • It is possible to join the route from other directions indicated on the trail map.
  • What is the trail profile like?
    • At the Turenki end, an easy profile, followed by more hills and climbs towards Lintuvuori from Kyterinharju.
    • Depending on snow conditions, a connecting trail to Konttilan-Kiipula route

  • It is possible to accumulate about 5 km of ski kilometers if the trail could be extended to the sports area.
  • How do I get to the trail?
    • Parking at the Lähdekorventie sports area: Lähdekorventie, 12400 Tervakoski
    • The starting point of the trail and the information board are on the right behind the artificial turf field when viewed from the parking area.
  • What is the trail profile like?
    • The ascent and descent to Luulion hill is steep at one end of the loop, otherwise the trail profile is easy with no steep hills.

Current trail information

The municipality publishes announcements about the trail conditions on its website.

Additionally, there is a Facebook group Janakkala Ski Trails and Ice Fields, where you can find current information about Janakkala ski trails and ice fields (no Facebook login required).

The group is managed by the municipality of Janakkala, but anyone who uses the trails or skates can post about the conditions of the trails and ice fields.

Report or post a situation picture. You can also report any dangerous spots (remember to inform the municipality through the feedback channel on the municipality’s website).
