The cultural services have granted event support to four events in Janakkala

The cultural services’ event support enables a variety of diverse events that enrich local cultural life and offer experiences for people of all ages. Event support was granted on February 27, 2026 to four applicants for four different events in Janakkala.

The following events received the support:

Dialogia! –festivaali ry 600€ for implementing a family event built around the dance piece “Salaisuuksien Pääsiäisjahti” and creative art workshops at the Rentun Ruusu event venue.

Janakkalan Musiikkipäivät ry 800€ for the El Quattro band’s concert at the Turenki sports hall.

Teatteriklubi Tribuna 500€ for organizing an Edith Piaf event in the lobby of Janakkala’s main library.

Tervakosken Eläkkeensaajat ry 600€ for the Hat Celebration aimed at older people, featuring a varied cultural program at the Tervakoski Community Hall.

Small reductions had to be made to some applicants’ requested grant amounts because funding was awarded within the available budget. A total of 3,200€ was applied for, but only 2,500€ was available within the budget. Factors influencing the awarding of event support included the quality and content plan of the events, applicants’ own funding, consideration of different target groups, regional accessibility and impact. The maximum grant per event is 800€ and the same applicant may apply for support only once during a calendar year. Decisions on event support were made by cultural producer Satu Ristola. Events made possible through the event support promote, in accordance with section 1 of the Act on the Cultural Activities of Municipalities (166/2019), the making, participation in and accessibility of culture and the arts, as well as arts and cultural education and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Event support, in total of 5,000€, will be distributed during the year in two instalments. The second application period for event support runs from April 13 to May 15, 2026, and grants awarded in that period will be allocated to events taking place from August 1 to December 31, 2026.
