The audio work ‘Hear Me’ brings the child’s voice to the fore across Finland
The cultural services of Janakkala and Välkky pre-primary education organized a sound workshop on October 16, where children shared important stories onto an audio tape for a national audio work. The Finnish Children’s Culture Association and children’s culture operators across Finland will publish the audio work ‘Hear Me’ during the Children’s Rights Week, November 17–23, 2025.
The completed audio work will also be heard in Janakkala libraries on November 20, on Children’s Rights Day. Consent from guardians was requested from participating children.
This year’s theme for Children’s Rights Week is the child’s right to belong and to be heard. The purpose of the work is to make children’s voices heard in public spaces across Finland.
