The Ahilammi detailed plan enables development in the area

The Turenki Ahilammi detailed plan was approved by the municipal council on Jan 26, 2026. With the detailed plan coming into force, the development of the area can proceed in a planned and comprehensive manner. The plan area’s location is in the immediate vicinity of the train station, downtown services and the Hiidenjoki river. The plan creates a framework for versatile development of Ahilammi’s shoreline area and strengthens the area’s position as a pleasant part of Turenki.

The detailed plan allows new residential construction (apartment blocks, terraced houses and detached houses) on the shoreline, while also enabling business opportunities. A block area for buildings serving tourism allows construction of holiday homes and a service building that would serve boaters and motorhome travelers.

In addition, the plan allows the construction of three floating holiday homes on Ahilammi’s water area. Shore saunas and other recreational structures have also been made possible by the plan.

Construction in the area must be adapted to its surroundings, taking into account, among other things, the landscape, groundwater, noise and vibration. The aim is to preserve Ahilammi’s natural character while improving the area’s usability for current and new residents. The shoreline area will remain in public recreational use.

The detailed plan is expected to support Turenki’s long-term growth and to increase the municipality’s attractiveness both for new residents and for investments.
The development of the Ahilammi area is seen as an important part of the municipality’s future land use, the development of the entire station area and strengthening the vitality of the population center.
