Phase 2 project plan for the Turenki school and multipurpose center for elected officials’ consideration
The Turenki school and multi-purpose center phase 2 project plan, which the municipal executive returned to preparation in October, returns to decision-making, starting with the technical committee on 9 December 2025.
The construction project will provide premises for the lower secondary school, the upper secondary school and sports facilities.
The municipal executive required that more economical alternatives be prepared for the investment. The technical committee is proposed to approve a reduced option (VE2), in which the floor area has been reduced by about 1,000 square metres, but the users’ needs can still be met. In the proposed overall solution, the school and sports facilities would be implemented at once at the primary quality level.
Overall, four different implementation options with varying costs have been calculated for the school campus. In the least expensive options the necessary spaces are achieved, but there may be shortcomings in functionality and flexibility. Operating and maintenance costs may also be higher annually, for example if automatically controlled lighting is omitted.
