Municipal executive meeting: Kanssi Business Area progress
The municipal executive will present the Kanssi detailed plan proposal for public display with its decision on October 6, 2025.
The detailed plan process has been initiated at the request of a private landowner, and its goal is to develop the planning area located in the MORE Industrial Park as an area for industry, warehouses, workplaces, and office spaces. The intention is to create a high-quality, attractive, and environmentally conscious industrial and workplace area located along excellent transport connections in Kanssi.
– The Kanssi area is located in a significant and visible place along the motorway. This plan will bring a substantial business area to the municipality of Janakkala, strengthening Janakkala’s recognition and vitality. We warmly welcome new businesses and jobs!, states the executive chief Riikka Moilanen.
The municipal executive is also expected to promote another vitality project, namely the sale of the Virala camping area. A purchase offer of 175,000 € has been received for the area, which is proposed for acceptance. The final approval of the sale will be made by the municipal council.
– We will also provide a statement on the Regional Council of Häme’s activity and budget. We note that the measures and their indicators are clear, which is a prerequisite for successful cooperation between municipalities and the regional council, says the chairman of the municipal executive Reijo Löytynoja.
In its statement, the municipality of Janakkala emphasizes the importance of the Regional Council of Häme promoting and supporting the advocacy and competitiveness of the municipalities in the region both domestically and internationally. Janakkala has no amendments, but it requires Regional Council of Häme to adjust its operations and refrain from increasing membership fees in the future.
Additionally, the municipal executive will also review its own budget proposal for 2026. The pressures for the budget year 2026 are directed towards public transport costs and employment services, such as “penalty fees.” Furthermore, a funding allocation of 64,000 € for revitalization and economic policy cooperation in the Riihimäki region has been added to the budget.
