Library bus situation

The Janakkala municipal council decided in its meeting on 26.1.2026, after a vote, that preparations will be made to discontinue Janakkala’s library bus service as part of the municipality’s financial balancing measures.

The library bus service ended on 5.12.2025 when the driver moved to other duties. January 2026 was still provided as a purchased service for daycare centers and schools.

At the moment the library bus is not running until further notice. A possible single spring tour is still being planned, but will be announced separately.

The welfare committee will decide on the discontinuation of the library bus during the spring. Before that, impact assessments and more detailed savings calculations will be carried out.
