271,203 times, thank you!

There were 271,203 loans from Janakkala’s libraries in 2025. Loans increased by an impressive 16.4%!

Organization is renewing

The new division of library and cultural services began in 2025. And it showed! 515 events were organized in the libraries. That’s 30% more than in 2024.

From libraries to cultural centers

9,622 people participated in library events; story time, puppet theater, book talks, or library-use instructions!

Mobile library grows in popularity

The mobile library traveled from village schools to spruce woods and from daycares to the middle of the fields. 48,463 loans were taken from the vehicle by customers. Loans grew by 13.3%.

Entrance bookshelf service becomes established

New Eteiskirjahylly (entrance bookshelf) locations were set up and the service is becoming an established part of cooperation between early childhood education and the library. 1,440 books were loaned from the Eteiskirjahylly in 2025. Loans grew a whopping 102%!

What is an Entrance bookshelf?

An Entrance bookshelf lets you loan bedtime story books when leaving daycare without having to visit the library separately.

Children of Janakkala grow up in a world of knowledge and stories

And you can tell! Children’s book lending grew 25%. Children’s fiction and non-fiction loans were a total of 110,434 in 2024 and 141,243 in 2025. 58% of all fiction and non-fiction loans are children’s materials!

A library for everyone

In the libraries people were helped, met, hung out, ran into friends, studied, worked, laughed and sang, made the world a little better, took part in events, and loaned countless books. All this and much, much more Janakkala residents received in 2025 for €56.50 per resident!
