Janakkala has switched to using Menoinfo

Janakkala has adopted the Menoinfo event calendar, produced by the media group Keskisuomalainen, on its website. The change is part of the Kanta-Häme municipalities’ joint transition to a single regional event calendar. The aim is to improve the discoverability of events and reduce duplicate work.

Menoinfo will also be adopted by Hämeenlinna, Hattula, Hausjärvi, Loppi, Riihimäki and Tammela. The tourism websites Visit Häme and Visit Forssa Region will also take Menoinfo into use. On the regional Visit Häme site, event information will be published in Finnish and English during the spring. The service supports tourism and makes it easier for visitors from outside the area to find events.

The aim of the change is to make both finding and publishing events easier. A single regional calendar improves event discoverability and reduces the work of event organizers, as events can be published in one service going forward.

Event information will be imported into Menoinfo automatically from several ticketing services, such as Lippu.fi, Tiketti, Ticketmaster and NetTicket, as well as association events from the Lähellä.fi service. These integrations add more content to the calendar and reduce the amount of manually entered information.

Regional newspapers Hämeen Sanomat, Hämeenlinnan Kaupunkiuutiset, Keski-Häme and Forssan Lehti will pick up events from Menoinfo for both their print and online editions. This improves the visibility of events and helps reach new audiences.

Instructions for event organizers

Adding events to Menoinfo is free and requires logging in.

Each event submitter will have their own credentials, which improves data reliability and reduces the risk of misuse.
Event organizers can also publish their events on their own websites free of charge using a widget or an RSS feed.
If an event is organized in cooperation with another operator, it is advisable to agree in advance on how the information will be stored in Menoinfo.
