Financial evening for residents March 5

What does municipal finance look like in Finland and how does it affect Janakkala? Why are reforms needed? How can Janakkala’s finances be put in order?

The Municipality of Janakkala is organizing a finance evening for residents on March 5, 6:00–7:30 PM. The purpose of the online event is to outline the municipality’s financial situation and to increase understanding of, among other things, decision-making. In Janakkala, work to balance the finances and related service network planning are underway.

At the event, Janakkala’s figures will be presented by a municipal finance expert, Doctor of Administrative Sciences Eero Laesterä, who defended his dissertation on municipal financial risks. A commentary will be given by chief executive Riikka Moilanen.

Residents may also submit questions in the chat of the Teams meeting. In addition to the speakers mentioned above, other municipal management will also be responding. Questions asked during the finance evening will be answered either during the event or afterwards in a summary published on the website.

If you do not have access to a remote connection, you can also follow the event in the main library’s teaching room. (Koulutie 2, Turenki) The meeting will be held in Finnish.
