Participate in the maintenance of green areas

Would you like to influence how recreational areas, parks, and sports fields look? Now it is possible!

A new participatory model for the maintenance of green areas has been implemented in the municipality by the municipal council decision on April 14, 2025, § 62. With the new model, residents have the opportunity to participate in the care of the municipality’s green areas by agreeing on the matter in advance with the municipality. Green areas refer to recreational areas, parks, and sports areas.

Do you have a specific area in mind that you would like to participate in developing or maintaining? You can participate in the activities alone or with a group, for example, through a company, association, team, school class, or neighborhood.

You can, for example (by arrangement with the municipality):

  • plant new trees
  • establish a flower meadow
  • participate in regular maintenance activities (e.g., lawn mowing/scything)
