The welfare committee was established in the municipality in January 1, 2024.

The committee is responsible for, among other things:

• guiding the preparation of the welfare report and welfare plan and outlining the key focus areas
• handling reports related to the participation program, Kaiku cards, child-friendly municipality, and welfare report
• planning, implementing, and monitoring the municipality’s equality and non-discrimination plan
• deciding, among other things, on funding for sports activities, cultural associations, rural and village administrations, communities, and welfare-supporting grants;
• responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring preventive substance abuse work and safety;
