Lean-to and grill shelters
Campfire sites can be found all around Janakkala in various locations. Some are behind forest hiking trails, some alongside winter ski routes, some at the beach, and some can be accessed by car. For some of the lean-to shelters, the owner occasionally supplies firewood, but to ensure fire safety, it is advisable to bring your own wood to most of the shelters. At Ahilammi, there is a shed from which firewood can be obtained via mobile payment. The person lighting the fire is always responsible for it, and fires should not be lit if the risk of spreading is high, for example, due to wind or dry terrain. Open fires should never be lit during a forest fire warning issued by the Meteorological Institute.
The lean-to shelters do not have winter maintenance unless otherwise stated.
